What's the big deal about North Texas ?
A great deal of our cities seem to constantly be on someones “best of” or “top places to live”…..McKinney, Plano, Frisco, Allen are home to Collin County, Texas and are always sought after areas. Arguably not lacking in this area is shopping, restaurants, entertainment, weekend events and lots of history.
Another tribute would be the outstanding existing companies and corporations we have in the area but the influx of new industry recently has definitely helped the surge of new people moving to our area to take advantage of all we have to offer. Three specific projects—including headquarters for Toyota Motor North America and corporate offices for Liberty Mutual Insurance and JPMorgan Chase & Co.—all located in Collin County. We hate to name drop (not really) but how about adding Emerson Process Management Regulator Technologies, Encore Wire, Ericsson, FedEx Office, Frito-Lay, Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems, Torchmark to the list of resident companies!
Take a quick look at yelp and you will certainly find an abundance of, not just franchise but independent, restaurants sure to satisfy the most difficult pallet. From trendy, organic, vegetarian, vegan, craft, etc to classic American, Mexican, Italian, oriental, you shouldn’t be lacking for choices here in any of our North Texas cities!
Have guests visit? Needless to say, they will be “covered” with their choice of hotels, inns, boutiques and bed and breakfasts- from luxurious to affordable and everything in between, why host them at your pad?
How bout those boys! Frisco is home to the Dallas Cowboys World headquarters in addition to the Ford Center at The Star. Being a state-of-the-art, 510,000 square foot indoor athletic facility shared by the Dallas Cowboys, the City of Frisco, and Frisco ISD’s high schools. The new Legacy West boast high rises among “live, work play” style that seems to be “the best thing since sliced bread”….location not to shabby either.
McKinney, Collin County seat, is named after Collin McKinney, who was one of five appointed to draft the Texas Declaration of Independence, and at age 70, he was the oldest to sign it. He later became a member of the committee that drafted the Constitution of the Republic of Texas and also served as a delegate from Red River District and County, Texas, to the First, Second, and Fourth Congresses of the Republic of Texas. McKinney has rich history still remaining today, visit our downtown area and you will immediately see what has everyone buzzing! Eclectic shopping, food, drinks, sweets all located in a true “square” atmosphere around The Courthouse Square, which is a prototypical example of a Shelbyville Square, characterized by a courthouse in the center of the square surrounded by a park-like setting and various monuments. Sidewalks and the town’s major roads form intersections at the four corners.
We haven’t even mentioned the McKinney National Airport bringing economic impact of more than $212 million annually to the City of McKinney and surrounding region!
